Have you guys heard about Potato Diet? Well, once I heard about an Australian that only ate potato for an entire year and lost about 70 KG. That's amazing, and most important, he's alive. I love potatoes, especially french fries. Among my Indonesian friends, I'm the one that always order french fries instead of rice when eating out. And Sweet Potatoes are my love. I already replaced my carbohydrates with sweet potatoes time to time, like when I did whole 30 challenge. I want my 2019 year to started right, so to lose my holiday fat / weight, I decided to challenge my self by eating only sweet potatoes for 4 days ( Jan 2nd - Jan 5th), to see if there were an effect for my body. Here's my 1 minute diet vlog doing it. And these is the details of my weight for comparison before and after the challenge. I lost 1.3 kg in 4 days, by eating only sweet potatoes. In detail I lost 536 gr of fat, and also 700 gr of muscle, according to Mi Scale 2. The good about the diet, I'm actually enjoying it. For average, I ate 2 sweet potatoes per meal, baked or air-fried. No starving, no headache. no constipation and also during 4 days, I didn't exercise at all. I'm using two types of sweet potato; Japanese and Indonesia Honey / Cilembu. The bad thing, you might get bored if doing it for longer time. I don't know if eating sweet potatoes for long time might be good or bad for you. I'm not dietitian, I'm doing it on my own because I want it, and I want to share it with you. Everybody must heard herbalife at least once. I did Herbalife once with all their "medicine" that said block calories, blablabla.. but nothing really effected me. And back then, I hate their shake so bad. Because of doing Korean Diet, especially IU Diet, I decided to buy one as my protein shake meal in the evening. And thanks to youtube, I learned how to make a delicious shake using Herbalife Formula 1. The recipe is simple :
And It's delicious, I love chocolate one, and sometime I add oats to the blender. You can be super creative with the recipe. If I want it to be cookies and cream, I add 3 tsp of Crushed Oreo to it, or If I want an apple flavor, I add apple instead of banana, and replace the milk with water or coconut water. Don't get me wrong, it's super delicious. And if you do it right, you get these creamy texture, almost like an ice cream. The mixed fiber gave a slight apple flavor to it, but no big problem of it. I want to maintain and maybe lost some weight off, by doing these Herbalife Shake for morning and evening. For the first week, nothing happened, my weight are the same, but on the second weight, my mouth started to miss eating once in a while. I'm still eating normal for lunch, but sometime after finish the Herbalife Shake, your mouth still wants just bite something, not just liquid diet. I gave up one night, and ended up eating a healthy noodle. After 2 weeks of drinking my meal for breakfast and dinner plus eating normal for lunch, my weights were up a little, don't know how. And my gastric problem was back.
Disclaimer : I do these Herbalife diet, only using Herbalife Formula 1 and Mixed Fiber, I bought it online. and I do it on my own without their coach. These liquid diet don't really work for me, maybe because drinking milk everyday, and a lot of soy on my diet, makes my hormon crazy imbalance, ( I have Acnes these 2 weeks). Also I miss eating, chewing. I still have my Herbalife Formula 1, probably going to drink it if I want to, because I love the taste and you could be crazy creative with it. I was going to repeat IU's Diet for final Day 6, but then I changed my mind to use Shantokki's Diet instead. Who is Shantokki? As I know, Shantokki is a korean youtuber that got viral because her diet revelation video (above), she talked about how she lost weight by eating 6 boiled eggs, 2 toast and a coke zero. Many people tried the diet also and it worked. On her video, she also stated that her diet is not healthy but she chose to do it anyway, but she warns people to do it only for a week, she also stated that she exercised while on diet. I will tried her diet for breakfast and lunch, but I happened to have wedding reception to go to, so I might cheat a lot on my dinner. I was thinking about trying her diet for next week to clean the fat after my birthday celebration. Almost perfect. Hahaha, at least not mushed together. These is my breakfast, 2 Medium-Hard Boiled Eggs. I ate it with a cup of green tea. Her diet lunch are consist of two boiled eggs, a toast and coke zero. She recently shared her diet sandwich recipe (which is not an actual recipe, just how she eats it), and I followed it. She kept saying add one more toast not going to make you fat, I cut my boiled egg and put it on my bread, then toast it, another boiled egg will be eaten as it is. And coke zero! She said that she is a sweet tooth and drinking coke zero while on diet will help to suppress your sugar craving. And yes, I'm waiting for it, too much. I was out of control at dinner, ended up eating a lot of meat, salad, and dessert. At home, I drank organic green tea to close my night. Thoughts on ShanTokki's Diet I just tried these for breakfast and lunch, so not commenting much. Quite full, but imagine eating toast and egg everyday might bored you, I decided to hold it until next week probably. On my birthday week, I'm going to eat what I wanted to eat anyway, but still controlling here and there, hopefully not yo-yo ing back to 70 kg. I don't know how but my weight and even my body fat were not changed at all, on Sunday morning. Amazed. And here comparison side by side, before and after diet. You might lose more than me, since I cheated and replaced meal here and there, and also I didn't exercise at all during my diet, only regular work on the table. May I do it again? I might.
