First, I'm not a sneakerhead. I'm just regular woman who wants to travel in comfort, with a touch of style. I was a fan of Converse on my college days, I still have one pairs that I bought 9 years a go, I was going to use it but then, I don't know, maybe because I was staring my 2018 vision board on my lock screen or constantly watch Safiya Nygaard's youtube , unconsciously, I want those Adidas. And like a cheapskate, I'm not ready to spend those money on sneakers that probably I will use rarely. Some of Adidas are made in Indonesia, and I know these country, and sneakily I searched on my online shop application, I found out some store claimed they sell Adidas Original, with cheap price. They said it's original, and got it from "trusted connection". I was longing to one store, just called it F Store, with hundreds of testimonials, claimed F Store is in fact, selling Original. It also got branded Mall, that mean trusted and selling original in these online shop application that I used. When I was going to buy, I was confused with the size. I have my Nike Shoes in size 41 with 26 cm length. My Converse in size 40 with 25.5 cm length. And F store was selling size 40, ready in stock, but claimed it's 25 cm length. I asked if they're going to restock size 40 2/3, and they said there's nothing yet. My guts said no, but my brain said just do it, we could do those ice bag trick or just wear it with double thick socks in couple of days. So, I bought it. And like a fool, it's too small. I checked it if it was original, and yes everything sign for original. I followed everything from these site.
Oh yeah, in Indonesia, they sell it with the term "BNIB" or "BNWB". BNIB or Brand New In Box, claimed it's all original, the shoes and the box. While, BNWB or Brand New With Box, claimed it's original but came with a new box. F store claimed it was BNIB, but I don't think so. The sole was cheap, probably F store use a fake sole, but everything other than that was cool. Some testimonials said it was probably store rejected. I was fine, because hey, all I need is style. But when your feet hurt so much, you just cannot bargain style anymore, shoes are shoes, you wear it for walk freely and comfortably, not hurting your feet. Believe me I tried, used freezer trick twice, use thick socks all day, I wear it on my house and offices, even during my sleep (unconsciously my feet were hurting at night, and I kick the shoes out), used hair dryer trick everyday and microwave the shoes, but nope. You can see the line where my feet squeeze in it. After I bought my Samsung S9 Plus (every photos in here taken by S9 Plus), I received a Sneaker Store gift voucher from Samsung, with whooping IDR 500.000 (US$35) value. I took it as a sign, that these voucher cover my loss from those questionably fake original superstar, and I need new shoes. I went to the store and believe me, I was so determined to buy new Adidas Shoes, I went to their two branches to check the stock. In the second store, I got my Stan Smith. When the salesperson told me, they only have size 40, my heart break a little. But I tried it anyway, it was perfect. Yes, it's a little bit too fit, the sales said with thick socks, it might hurt, but at least Stan Smith don't have a rubber part like Superstar, that made my big feet hurt. I buy it, and these Stan Smith is currently the most expensive shoes I bought. Went home and directly took a stroll around neighborhood with my dog, my feet is happy. I love Superstar, still, but I hate the rubber part that made my feet hurt. Above, I put it side by side the shoes, questionably Adidas Superstar from F Store vs Original Store-Bought Stan Smith. Both shoes are size 40, but look the different length, of course my feet is happy inside Stan Smith, it's longer than the Superstar. Also, you can see the box, it's totally different.
I know both are different type of shoes, Superstar vs Stan Smith. But these is my true experience. I'm the type of woman that said to my friend, not to buy refurbished / second smartphone because it's questionable, but then I still fall to cheap "original". These is not my first time buy cheap original from online store, I bought my first MK Selma bag also cheap and from unofficial online store, I wore it to MK Store and the staff compliment my choice, meaning my bag is original, unless it was sarcasm that I didn't get it. My learn from these experience :

Not gonna lie, I'm addicted to sugar. I love everything sweet, desserts is my favorite time. I don't say I blame my parents how to raise me with sugar, they never strict about what I ate. They give me ice cream for snack, they allowed me to buy one box of Kit Kat, and all my teenage days until now, I struggle with weight. In Indonesia back then, if you made it to dean's list, the school, sponsored by a doughnut's chain store, would give you a dozen of doughnuts for free, for your achievement. Sugar = Reward One time, my biology teacher asked me if my family had history of diabetic, because she said my legs are too thin for my big figure. I always love my long thin legs, because I have those body whose fat is all over my stomach and arms, but my legs are always fine. I asked my mother, she said her sister died of diabetic. It's a first wake up call. My mom got diabetic, or discovered she has diabetic years a go. She went to these doctor in local area, where the queue are crazy. So many people are diabetic, including my mom. I was so proud that my mom in a way started out of her diabetic medication, the doctor praised her. She got a problem in her feet, because of diabetic that made her so lazy to move. Bu then, yesterday, she fall worse. And the doctor decided it's time that my mom use injection as medication. If you heard injection, you thought insulin, that means her diabetic become so worse. My father has been on sugar and meat diet, but somehow my mom who eats together with him still fall worse in sugar. Today is the first day My Mom use Victoza, medication injection to treat diabetes type 2. I help injected her with the medication, she said it doesn't hurt or anything. But then I read it on website (yes they put it on their official website) that Victoza could lead into possible thyroid tumors. My father has cancer, and I'm afraid deep down that my Mom who never really took care of her body might have one, too. So, yes, it's truly give me scares. Second wake up call.
These experiences taught me many things about health. Your body is your responsibility and your job to maintain it. My weights are still uncontrollable, I still have my PCOS, I do have those ENT's problem. I don't know if everything are related, but I heard PCOS related to diabetic somehow. Learn it from experience, and do maintain it. I decided to do #whole30 challenge because I was so guilty, for eating all the junk foods I did on February, and then, on 28th February, I ate Burger King and went to Starbucks for dessert. Since January, I already did intermittent fasting where I skip breakfast and eat for 8 hours from noon to 8 PM. Yes, it made me eat too much and my weight is stabilized, but well, I want to lose weight before my Japan Trip, since I know I'm going to eat and eat and eat in Japan. This is my guide for the whole 30, I printed it and put it on my planner. And yes, for these month, I'm using my planner as my food diary, writing what I have for Lunch and Dinner, and probably snack, and what is my sin (If I do cheat, and of course I cheat here and there). You can see my planner on my instagram. My conclusion after eating whole 30 in 15 days, majority my food (that works for me) are salad / vegetable with meat, plus fruit. I drink a lot of cold-pressed juice as snack, that I bought without sugar. I baked a lot, for my sweet potato and my meats. If I do cheat or going out with my friends and eating out, I choose fries than rice, because you can't eat any grains, including oatmeal, which is strangely made me crave oatmeal. I rarely eat oatmeal, and then I craved it. You always craved something you can't have. Above you can see pictures food that I ate until today, mostly meat and salad. And even, if I eat out, I tried my best to eat inside whole 30 menu. Yes, there are cheat pictures inside. This is my first doing whole 30, so don't judge me too harsh. LOL.
Everyone know I'm a sweet-tooth, I choose dessert than meal. But until now, with my freezers are filled with tons of ice creams, I haven't crave one so far, which is kind of achievement for me. Well I did cheat on ice cream and cake, once. I cut bread and gluten, which I thought it will be hard, but nope, doing so far so good. I cut diary, no cheese, milk and ice cream. (I have my unsweetened soy-milk for today, my 4th day of GM Diet) I'm doing GM Diet again, because I see that everything on GM Diet is Whole 30, except milk, that's why I replaced it with Soy-Milk. I know in these guide below, soy is restricted, but for one day only, I drink Unsweetened Soy-Milk. I weight myself once a week, and last Sunday (before GM diet), I already lost 2 kg, so far, which is great. I can't wait to weight myself on the end of my journey, and eat those Black Pizza on April. |
