I'm not a girly girl growing up, even though had bunch of teenage magazine, still didn't encourage me to be the stylish teenager. I still remember, my five years old me play pretend make up, using lipstick toy that I already covered with my mom's lipstick over it. Where was those girl in my teenage days? I'm a late bloomer. I learned make up, I believe, in my senior year of high school, where everyone throw sweet seventeen birthday party (yes, in my era, it's sweet seventeen not sixteen), suddenly you are pushed into young adult mode, with dresses, high heels, and make up. Entering college is another difficult phase. I was in hospitality management major, where make up and high heels shoes are a must, I was so stressed that I felt I'm entering the wrong major. Yes, I was that girl that don't want to put make up and high heels. I don't wear my make up daily, I work in blue collar environment. I wear my comfort clothes and work alone on second floor. I don't meet people often, so no make up necessary. When I go out, if it far from home, I wear make up, if it close and with my close friends, no make up, lol. Far from that, now, I have drawers full of make up, I'm constantly learning from youtuber, I have a collection of hair styling tools. But still, everyone know me as a girl who doesn't like wearing make up. Every time I wear full face make up, I felt it was too much, and sometime, I felt wearing my mom's face, doesn't mean my mom isn't pretty but I felt old. A Basic Make Up for me, is an eyebrow and an eyeliner. I don't wear fancy foundation or anything, just an eyebrow and an eye liner. That's it. But for a must-have, probably those above. I just need those to says I'm wearing make up today. Some probably screaming, or some laugh. But yeah, that's my reality. I still wear others, like contouring, highlighter or fake eyelashes, when I go more formal events, such weddings or others. Maybelline I love Maybelline, yeah I'm your typical drug store make up user, and Maybelline is my top choice. And my must used make up from them are :
KATE Sharp Lock Gel Pencil I bought these in Singapore when I needed eye liner so bad. It's interested because it was so thin, and super fine. I should buy two or more, because it's the best eyeliner I used so far. Kate is not available in Indonesia, that's why I cringed now. It's super easy to use. Lakme : Precision Eyebrow Artists I just bought these and just used it once, and love it so far. The down side is it doesn't have spoolie brush, so I used my old one from NYX, eyebrow palate, which I loved too. Shu Uemura Laque Supreme BG02 My favorite lip color ever. I love nude lip color, that slightly pink and coral. And I found the one in Shu Uemera, it never leave my bag, because it's my go to lipstick. It never go wrong because it's nude and easy to apply. I found the matte version of it in Make Over Intense Matte Lip Cream 003 Secret, which was recommended by my favorite make up youtuber, Molita Lin. I bought it, and when I compared with my Shu Uemura, it almost the same color. For the make up brush, I used my set make up brush from BH Cosmetics, it's an affordable quality brush set. I still used my set of eye make up brush from Sephora for eye shadow.
I don't like using mascara because it always end up in my cheek, don't have primer because I straight into foundation. Still learn to use contouring and highlighter the right way. I'm the basic newbie make up girl, still learn it and loving it. #blogeverydayinFEB
