It's an essential apps to be used when traveling in Japan. Beside google map, I used these a lot in Japan, excluding Kyoto. It was pretty easy to use, just put where station or place, you are originated from, in these case, it's a Kansai Airport, so type Kansai, and it will be available for you to choose. And put the destination station that you're going to, in these case, it's Daikokucho (it's where my Air BnB are located). You can also modify the time, departing right now, arriving in specific time, the first train or last train of the day. So, if you're still planning, you can also seek, for planning the schedule or calculate the money spent. The apps will give you information, what time the train will be arriving, what time you arrived in destination, how much time you will spend on the train, what platform, how much it will cost, and the station code (like M21 for Daikokucho). For example, I pick the second choice the apps gave to me. I need to buy Haruka Ticket from KIX to Tennoji, it will cost me around ¥1100, the train will depart from platform 4 in 11:14 (Japan Train is always on schedule, just look for the time schedule to make sure you depart the right train). Arrived in Tennoji, I need to seek Metro Midosuji Line, platform 3, and it will cost me ¥180. It might be overwhelming, well, it is for me, because you can't read their sign, and people seems to know where to go, and you're standing there with your luggage seeking for the right train. One thing that I learned is always seek the Station Code, like in these case, Tennoji is M23, and I want to go to Daikokucho, which is M21. So, just go to platform 3, seek the time schedule, if it was 11:56 train, aboard the right train. If you want to make sure more, just seek the board that said it was going from M21 to M23, not to M20, if you're confused with all japanese sign. If you're miss the 11:56 train because of confussion, you can click the time 11:56, to seek the timetable for the next train. or just simply refresh it, it will show the new train schedule. Review :
Personally, I think these app is essential, because it's really help a lot. I don't know how many time I look these app or refresh it to see the train schedule, because the train in Japan is really overwhelming and right on time, if you miss it, just refresh it to see what time the next train will be. Some trains are also labelled Local, Express, or Limited Express. Express means the train will skip some station, it will help you to go to your destination quickly. Limited Express train will skip more station, while Local stop in every station. If you're confused with that, just follow the apps, what time, what platform, name of the train and line, and you will be fine.
